Fuji x frame1/9/2024 Theoretically, the Fujifilm X-H2’s responses will be slower than those of the X-H2s, but it still feels a very snappy performer with fast and accurate AF (now with Animal, Bird, Automobile, Bike, Airplane and Train recognition, not just face and eye AF). The numerals are big and clear and the white-on-black display has bags of contrast. The status display panel on the top of the X-H2 is especially good and worth giving up shutter speed and ISO dials for. The 5.76m-dot EVF is very crisp and clear, as you would expect from that resolution, and the rear screen is very good too – it’s great to have a fully vari-angle screen rather than a simple tilting screen. We have so far tried the X-H2 with a variety of lenses, including the Fujinon XF 16-55mm f/2.8 and the newly-announced Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R WR – this camera will be sold body-only and with the XF 16-80mm f/4 – and while it feels best balanced with Fujifilm’s smaller lenses, it’s not too unwieldy with the 16-55mm, a likely pro choice for X-H2 buyers. This has no fewer than 7 custom settings (C1-C7) – Fujifilm has opted for in-depth customization rather than a body covered in buttons. These do not follow the traditional external controls of the Fujifilm X-T4, but instead this camera swaps to a conventional mode dial (like the X-H2S). The Fujifilm X-H2 is not a large camera but it has a deep grip for a secure hold and there is a decent amount of space around the controls. One of these, the new Fujinon 56mm f/1.2, is being launched at the same time as this camera. Naturally, it takes the full range of Fujifilm X-mount lenses, many of which are being updated to meet the speed and resolution of Fujifilm’s latest cameras. But the X-H2 will be bought primarily for its resolution, and that brings its real headline features.Įlsewhere, the X-H2 is identical to the X-H2S, with a very good 5.76m-dot EVF, 1.62m dot vari-angle touchscreen and dual CFexpress Type B and UHS-II memory cards. The company also acknowledges that the focus tracking performance will not be the same as the X-H2S’s because it can’t match the faster camera’s readout speed. the scan time, of X-H2 sensor is 1/88sec versus the 1/180sec of the X-H2S What Fujifilm calls the ‘rolling shutter’ time, i.e. With a maximum burst speed of 15fps with the mechanical shutter, it can keep up with most sports cameras for sheer speed. Normally, high-resolution sensors sacrifice speed, but while the sensor in the X-H2 does have a slower readout speed than the one in the X-H2S (it doesn’t use the same stacked design), it’s no slouch. It’s 20 shots rather than the usual 16 because of the unique color filter array of the X-Trans sensor design, and the multi-shot merging happens later on a computer – it’s not done in-camera. The X-H2 has a new 40MP APS-C X-Trans sensor, which is a high enough resolution in itself, but this is supplemented by a 160-megapixel multi-shot pixel-shift mode, which merges 20 separate images into one. Safari preferences shaded on imac1/9/2024 For example, with television, it was determined long ago that the stronger contrast and darker shadows of gamma 2.4 looked best because most people watched TV in dimly lit rooms. Gamma values are different between computers, televisions and movie theaters so images look their best in each environment. As you can see, the higher the gamma numerical value, the darker and more contrasty the image. How do these gamma values affect photos and videos? Here are some helpful images published by display manufacturer BenQ. Broadcast television uses gamma 2.4, while pretty much anything that’s not a television uses gamma 2.2. Gamma 2.6 is high contrast with deep, dark shadows. Common Display Gamma Valuesįilms created for theaters typically use gamma 2.6 (the lowest curve in the chart above). Think of gamma as a Tone Curve, with pure black at lower left, pure white at upper right, and shades of gray in between. Here’s an illustration of the most commonly used gamma values. Gamma is a mathematical way of quantifying contrast on a display. So all that said, what in the world is going on here? Why is this a problem in macOS, but not other operating systems? To answer that, we need to take a closer look at display gamma. This option would be most useful when screening videos for clients, sharing videos with other macOS users, displaying video as part of a presentation from a MacBook, or other situations where the video will be viewed using macOS. If you are exporting a video that will be viewed only on a Mac - your display, a client’s display, etc - and not live online for months or years to come, then it may make sense to apply Adobe’s Gamma Compensation LUT or add your own extra contrast adjustment. Also, if Apple were to fix the problem at some point in the future, all your past videos exported without a LUT or contrast adjustments would then display correctly in macOS. Yes, it is annoying seeing slightly more washed out video in macOS, but then you aren't optimizing your video for one audience at the expense of everyone else. If this is what you are currently doing, you don’t need to change anything with your workflow. If you are exporting video anyone may see at any time on any display, the simplest and safest bet is exporting video from Premiere normally, without LUTs or contrast adjustments. It depends on whether your video will be seen by everyone (eg, YouTube) or only those using macOS. Or, to be more precise, you may apply the ASC CDL Color Correction effect to the adjustment layer, then set its Red, Green, and Blue Power settings to 1.09.Įxported video will then appear more similar to your Premiere color grade, but won’t look as dark as Adobe’s aforementioned LUT. If you'd like to split the difference and export a video that looks a little better in macOS, but without being too dark in Windows, you may add extra contrast using an adjustment layer and Lumetri color at the top of your Premiere timeline. Option three: Add contrast to the Premiere Timeline with an Adjustment Layer This will however create a darker video when viewed using Windows or any non color managed macOS application. I’ll explain how this LUT works in a minute, but for now, this is a simple LUT that changes the contrast of exported video to appear "correct" when viewed using QuickTime, Chrome, Safari, or any color-managed macOS application. Option two: Export gamma-corrected video for viewing on a MacĪdobe offers a free QuickTime Gamma Compensation LUT. Simply export as you normally would and move on. Mac users will see a slightly softer, less contrasty image, but videos never look the same on every screen anyway, so there is no silver bullet to fix this issue. As long as you’re happy with your color grade, and like how your video looks inside Premiere, you may rest assured your exported video will appear as expected on the majority of televisions and computer displays out there. Simply export h.264 video from Premiere and use it as is. Why does this happen? And what can you do about it? I'll explain what's going on in a minute, but here are three options macOS users should consider when exporting video from Premiere. This is known as the dreaded “QuickTime Gamma Shift”, and it unfortunately affects anyone currently editing video using Adobe Premiere Pro on a Mac. If you edit video using Adobe Premiere Pro on a Mac, chances are you’ve encountered a problem where exported video looks washed out and desaturated in QuickTime Player, Safari and Chrome when compared to the same video viewed inside Premiere on a timeline.

Fantage membership accounts 20151/9/2024 It’s pretty sleek and all, but I didn’t expect it to change so much! Alright moving on, to the INSIDE. The first thing that changed is the outside of Le Shop. *We’re still updating this post, keep checking!* The title explains it all! I’m a few hours late on this update, so I’ll try to do this as quickly as possible. Crazy. For Fantage updates, events, secrets, and much more!❤ I bet this year will run by as fast as the previous two years. Pick up your limited items if your a Premium Member. There’s also a Chocolate Fountain at the Forest! Take a dip into it, and see what sweet food item you’ll become. The prizes contain 5 cocoa nuts to make chocolates, and 10 stars/eCoins.Ĭupcake Chaos has returned! It has not changed at all, so if you want to glance at how to play it, click here from last year’s event, and scroll to the bottom of the post. Q-Blast is now offering special gifts hidden inisde cakes in all Bakery maps. Woohoo! Wondering what the prizes are? Don’t fret! I got them right here! Both nons and members can pick any of these prizes. But use it quickly, because if you don’t use it in a day, it’ll dissappear. If your team (strawberry or mint chocolatiers) win on who makes the most chocolates, you can earn a prize chance, which you can actually choose good prizes from past events. The gifts look like this, so when you see one, make sure you click on it, and then head over to the Chocolate Factory icon on your top left taskbar to make your chocolates. You can make chocolates by gathering each of the cocoa, strawberry or mint chocolates, and milk that can be found anywhere in Fantage, even shops so keep your eye out! The only places with no gifts, is at the Island, Sea Breeze, inside the Lighthouse and Fantage School, and the Mission Center. Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤ It’s Friday the 13th, and Fantage has released A Chocolate Foactory, where you can gather gifts to make your delicious chocolate, and Q-Blast has some special Valentine’s gifts wiating inside the cakes in the Bakery maps. How many four leaf clovers can you find around your area? Who’s good at playing the bagpipe? Because these costumes remind me of Scottish people jamming on the bagpipe. Mass click randomly at the clovers and you’ll get a bunch! Tip: Don’t look at your score, it’ll just slow you down. What do you get? Stars! Averaging 50 each round. It’s raining clovers! Represent your team by collecting (clicking) as many clovers as you can and beat the other team. Instead, place blocks further away, in which that it’ll be difficult to get around the blockade. Tip: Try not to place blocks right near him, because he can easily get around it. In this game, located at the forest, you can place blocks around the run away leprechaun and try to capture him, which has the exact gameplay as Mouse Out. You can earn prizes along with your victory. You can now plant three and four leaf clovers in your Fantage Farm! You can earn up to 100 stars when you harvest these clovers! You can join a parade with only one theme – green! Dress your best to impress the operating system and get your way to the front! But I think you’re ordered by how soon you join because when I joined right after the previous round, I was placed near the front, and when I joined 2 minutes before the start of the parade, I was at the end. Green, green, green, and you know it again, clovers. But it’s weird that they only decorate Downtown, Uptown, and partially the Forest now. Fresh dude.įantage has transformed into a world of green, green, and you know it, clovers. Now you can roam Fantage with your new member eyes. Buy the eyes with eCoins, because buying it with Stars doesn’t work, beause it’s originally for members only. This is the awesome part, on the Spanish server, all of the eyes are 0 stars and 0 eCoins. Since I already have member eyes, I’m just going to wear non-member eyes for now. There’s only one Spanish server that’s never even halfway full so don’t worry about full servers. That’s not how many characters I have in my password, I just typed in “password.” Next, log into your account that you want member eyes with on the Spanish server. Click on the Español button, and it will take you to the Spanish version of Fantage. On your screen on Fantage, there is two languages in Fantage that you can play in. Ever wanted to get those gorgeous member eyes? Well you can! It’s simple! Just follow the path of free member eyes below.

Minecraft zombie drop chances1/8/2024 Zombies are easily identified by their green skin and blue shirts. These items will only drop from zombies killed by a player. Zombies can spawn with and drop chain armor. The looting enchantment increases the chance for these items to drop. Zombies will rarely drop shovels, swords, carrots, potatoes, Iron ingots, and armor (if equipped). Also, players can trade rotten flesh with cleric villagers.īecause they also drop carrots and potatoes on occasion, a player can use a zombie mob spawner from a dungeon to potentially collect carrots and potatoes in order to start or supplement a vegetable garden. Rotten flesh can safely be used to heal and breed tamed wolves without any risk of the wolf being poisoned, as wolves are immune to rotten flesh poisoning. Rotten flesh can be eaten by a player, but it has an 80% chance of giving a player food poisoning (the Hunger Effect). When killed, zombies drop 0-2 pieces of rotten flesh. They heal faster by making a makeshift jail cell for the villager with iron bars and a bed. However, zombie villagers can be healed by using a splash potion of weakness on them and then giving them a golden apple. Occasionally, zombies will attack villagers. As of 1.2.3, they also have a chance of spawning with a pumpkin or jack o' lantern on their head (during Halloween), wearing a random type of armor or wielding an iron sword or shovel. When the sun rises, they will burn to death above ground if they aren't under a solid block and don't have a helmet. They will attempt to break down one's door. Zombies spawn in unlit areas either above ground or underground. Zombies will also not drop down into an area if the ledge is taller than five blocks. Any item equipped in this way will be dropped after the zombie is killed. Zombies also occasionally spawn with the ability to equip dropped armor and weapons. Zombies can jump 1 block up and will crowd around doors when in pursuit of players and villagers (in Hard mode, they will break wooden doors down). Zombies come in many different variations as well, each with their own unique attacking abilities, or inflict a certain effect.Ī zombie will target a player when he or she is within a 40 block radius. However, it is possible for several zombies to collaborate and attack as a team (referred to as a siege or horde), making them more difficult to overcome. Zombies are sometimes considered the least dangerous hostile mob in the game because they are slow and can only use close-range melee attacks.

Wet layup chopper gun1/8/2024 Laughs aside, one of few skills for which I actually have formal training is high performance composites. We used to call the guys who ogled all the carbon parts 'Porsche faggots' We would even paint many of our e-glass parts black to keep them guys happy ! We set two class track records in two Rolex 24's so our cars were fast. They spray your gelcoat ( it does have a gelcoat finish, yes?)and lay on the laminate.Ĭlick to expand.I worked in auto racing part time for a couple of years working on a pair of Porsches running in (then) IMSA GT1. Then coat with PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) it's a water disolving release agent. If that's the case then machine the foam and put a thin layer of bondo on and sand and polish. I hope you're going to make a bunch of these otherwise the mold building effort will kill you for 1 or 2 pcs. your local fiberglass distributor can give you some option. So use other material and after all of the bondo and sanding then coat it with tooling gelcoat and then polish and apply the mold prep. Laminar is right in that it's a pain to work with, I'd say go with straight polyester resin and E glass with a foam core.Īs for the mold, any polyester based product will disolve styrofoam. kevlar is lower density the standard fiberglass (E glass). If it needs to be light then a foam core between the inner an outer skins increase the cross section without adding a lot of weight. if weight isn't an issue then just use solid glass. If you need the finished piece to be stiff then you need to increase the cross section. But if it's to make a buck, It's hard to beat the look of Italian Chrome. Something most of the racing world has apparently overlooked. This it total BS as properly designed structures usually outweigh material selection in performance. But what really bothers me is in most of the racing world, if it's carbon, it's "high performance". Usually a mold is fiberglass, sand, bondo, sand, primer, sand, primer, sand, primer, sand, and a bunch of mold release wax. Make your mold and finish it with whatever you can to make it as smooth as you need it. As far as epoxy, it's hard to beat the West System 105 and the appropriate West System hardener. I like it better than glass and it's easy see the splinters in you skin. If your part is just for shape, use glass. Modern sailplanes use a sandwich of Kevlar and Carbon in the forward fuselage area for crash protection. Carbon on either side of Kevlar makes a nice sandwitch as Kevlar is lighter so it acts like a core that is very damage tolerant. You can just use it in small patches to give the flat areas some section. What can be done with it is to laminate it inside of other materials such as glass or carbon. That's probably why it was laying around the shop. Hard to cut, drills with a fuzzy hole, etc. I'd stay away from Kevlar unless you require it's specific properties. What are your parameters? Is this part structural, weight critical, etc.

Alfred application1/8/2024 If you're having any issues with hotkeys, take a look at the Hotkey Troubleshooting for frequently asked questions and tips. You'll also find template workflows which use hotkeys under the Templates sub-menu. Advanced Hotkeys: A workflow showing you how to use one hotkey to perform multiple different actions, depending on the active application when the hotkey is triggered.Hotkeys: A simple hotkeys workflow, demonstrating how to set a hotkey trigger to launch one or more files/apps.You can find two built-in hotkey workflows in Alfred's Workflows preferences.Ĭlick the in the bottom left of the Workflows preferences. Want to learn more about workflow variables? Take a look at the guide on setting variables in workflows. To see this concept in action, add the "Advanced Hotkeys" workflow example from the Getting Started menu in the Workflows preferences. Want to create a workflow that performs a different action depending on which app is in focus when the hotkey is triggered? Check the box for "Focused App Variable" to pass the app name through to your workflow. From Alfred 4.1, if the context is set to "don't have focus", there is a darker background hint behind the application icons. Note: The Related app's icons are shown on the Hotkey Trigger in the Workflow canvas. This feature makes it possible to use, for example, a hotkey to perform an action in every application except Photoshop, where the hotkey might already have its purpose. Choose "don't have focus" to tell Alfred to ignore the hotkey when the apps you've dragged in are in focus.Choose "Hotkey is only active when the following apps have focus" to tell Alfred to only make the hotkey active when the apps you've dragged are the current focused apps.Use Alfred to search for the applications you want the hotkey to relate to and drag them into the Related Apps section of the hotkey dropdown sheet. It's possible to share hotkeys between multiple workflow triggers, and careful use of Related Apps will give you a seamless experience. You can also specify in which applications you want the hotkey to be applied or ignored. Take a look under Edit > Find > Use Selection For Find in a native app to use it. Alfred then has access to this secondary pasteboard to use with the Hotkey Trigger, keeping it separate from the usual clipboard. The macOS Pasteboard is a separate clipboard it can be used by pressing Cmd + E in any native/standard macOS app. This then allows you to start typing as soon as Alfred is shown. When choosing to show Alfred with the Clipboard contents, Selection or Pasteboard, you can prefix the argument with a keyword, and choose whether to set the cursor to the right or left. Or None launches the hotkey without an argument at all.Text allows you to specify static text to pass through.macOS Find Pasteboard uses the content of the macOS Pasteboard.

Free downloads AlDente Pro1/8/2024 No-nonsense battery limiter for Apple Silicon Macsīattery is great for users who don’t need AlDente’s extra features, those to prefer CLI tools, or even developers who want to make their own better app, which the project’s permissive license allows. The CLI utility also allows you to set a custom charging limit. What’s more, a command-line tool is installed automatically when running the app, and you can always use that instead of the GUI. It also continues to work after rebooting.Įven though the GUI is built in Electron, which not everyone is a fan of, that doesn’t really matter since you don’t need to keep it running. You can quit the app, and it will continue to limit the charge level until you launch the app again and turn it off. You just start it up, enable it from the menu bar, and get on with your day. Unlike AlDente, this app has no fancy features to speak of, and no paid ones either. Someone with AlDente and an external monitor on a M1 MacBook should test this. The command is: sudo pmset disablesleep 1. This is especially true if you’re using a MacBook that’s mostly plugged-in, as it will always stay at near 100% charge, which results in continuous high battery strain. I haven't tried al Dente but the description of the problem sounds just like normal use when in clamshell and you disconnect the charger. While it may seem counter-intuitive to purposely limit your battery’s maximum charge, the level of degradation is so much higher at full charge that it may be worth it in the long run. Good idea for long-term battery healthīoth lithium-ion and lithium polymer batteries, like the one in your M1/M2 mac, degrade the fastest when the charge level is below 20% or above 80%. The best AlDente alternatives are: Endurance, Softorino, Battery Buddy, BatteryBoi (Open-Source), Battery Indicator. We’ve listed the top 7 alternatives to AlDente. You can see it as a stricter alternative to the battery management feature built into macOS, which only limits charging when certain that it won’t inconvenience you. A silly little menubar app created for the serial killers out there who dont charge their Macbooks and need more of a nudge.
